My version of sweet sour parang fish and fry mix vegetables. I used sour plum instead of tomato sauce in my sweet sour and of course it has to be a bit hot to my children liking, so i added in about 2 tablespoons blended dry chillies.

Zai...I pernah makan ikan parang masak asam pedas or goreng....Tak pernah rasa ikan parang sweet sour....!Interesting...(I always associate ikan parang = asam pedas)
do4+1,
yeap parang and asam pedas is a lethal combination ha ha ha...but i think this fish is quite versatile, i love it masak kicap, this sweet sour and of course masak lemak chili api with young mango or the small belimbing....uishh..meleleh air lior ha ha ha
i prefer this fish to the meatier one like tenggiri or bawal but for the kids' sake, i cook these fishes often than parang .....
