16 years later.....

Last Friday, after sending the boys to school, i did not continue my sleep like i usually did. Instead, i baked Chocolate Chips Muffins and Banana Chocolate Chips Muffins. Then i made custard for the fruits tarts, assembled them and packed them in the boxes . Everything was completed by 11.30, i took a shower, fetched the boys from school and got them to shower and changed. We left for KL to deliver the goodies at about 1.oo pm. We reached KL at almost 2 o'clock .Boxes of yummy fruit tarts
Someone requested almond London too....Amazingly i managed to arrange all the boxes at the back of my small Aveo ha ha ha.....i was sweating doing this......

That was part of what happened on my 16th wedding anniversary day. Then continued with us heading to Ampang Point area for a late lunch at Ampang Yong Tau Foo. Then we 'lepak' at my sister's house in Taman Kencana before we fetched the father of my boys at his office after office hour. My oldest boy wanted to eat Mexican and we went to Las Caritas located somewhere along Jalan Ampang....We had our anniversary dinner all 5 of us and so engrossed with the yummy food, I forgot to take pictures he he......I had old pictures of the boys scanned. Mostly when we were staying in our 'sarang burung' apartment in KL, one in a rented house in Gombak and the beach picture was taken in Cherating.

And have a blessed Ramadhan to all Muslim visitors to this humble blog of mine.

Cupcakes for engagement somewhere in Kelantan

I received orders to make 2 sets of engagement gifts cupcakes from a same person last week. Apparently for both sides of engagement gifts, the guy's and the gal's. Requested to deliver them on 21st August as the cupcakes had to travel to Kelantan on 22nd and the occasion was on Saturday the 23rd (jauhnyer travel). I hope the cupcakes survived the long journey. With the cupcakes there were orders for fruit tarts and muffins. This was the only one left for peach color set as the rest were delivered when picture was taken. The ones which reached customer were without the leaves as i thought they looked better that way.
I managed to take the picture for this set just before leaving for KL to deliver them. I was already late, hence the bad picture. As we entered MRR2 after the Sg Besi toll, the traffic was practically at a snail pace ( what else new in KL ya?)......Lucky i had a dear friend with me in the car, if not i would be swearing all the bad(?) words all the way to my destination that day ha ha ha.....
After inching away to Maxisegar in Cheras, delivered the cupcakes, muffins and whatever, i went to my sister's house nearby to see my youngest brother latest addition of family member. The little one was already 7 month old and that was the first time i met him. Sorry little baby its very bad of your Mak Teh. As I am typing this entry i dont seem to recall the name.....very bad ...very bad. Later i will call my brother for the name of the adorable baby boy...

Happy Birthday Abang....

I had mentioned somewhere sometimes ago that month of August is my good month for the whole year. That was because many life altering occasions happened to me in August. One of those was the birth of my first born on 17 August 1993. Just a year after i got hitched he he...He is a true blue Klite, once in a while asking me if we ever moved back to KL. (betul2 anak mak nih ha ha ha).He was an easy baby for the 9 month i was carrying him and until now. His ambition changes like the four seasons in the west ha ha ha.....he wanted to be a teacher once, chef at one time and doing something with astronomy the last i was updated a few weeks ago. He requested a tiramitsu for his birthday cake. He wanted the original version not the one frosted with that white2 cream he said.....ha ha ha...

i am a bad speller baker ha ha ha.....

I was told a few weeks ago by my younger brother that his wife had completed her PhD in something-something....Sorry Zis, i just cannot remember the whole thing. He had also mentioned about having a thanksgiving do and tahlil on 14th August. At first i just wanted to used edible picture for the cake but some technical problem arise i ended up swirling yellow rosettes and tried basket weave on the side of the heart shaped chocolate moist cake. Confidently i piped the words on the cake and my writing as usual suck ha ha ha......and to my horror i realized i spelled both words wrongly, even her name. Sorry Izah, didn't mean it. I quickly amended by covering the wrong spelling with fondant plaque with "Congratz Dr. Izah". I didnt get to take a picture as i was running late. I also baked tiny vanilla cupcakes with butter cream frosting and small fondant flowers on top.

Nature's wonder and food again.....

First of all, apology for the big pictures. I received a few request to post pictures maximum size for my entry. They said ' baru puas tengok' he he...
For a few days last week i heard bird chirping away over my head whenever i parked my old Wira under the mango tree in front of the house. But on Saturday, the chirping got louder and lo and behold, i looked up and saw this beautiful creature. I did not get to see the young ones though.
One of dinner dishes inspired by ms hart posting on chicken soup here.
Hers was chicken but my house preference of protin source is beef. So it was beef curry on one of the night last week and followed with lightly toast bread with curry for the next morning breakfast he he.....
Taking a break from rice, i made pizza for dinner after the curry affair. I got nice 3 extra large pizzas from the dough i mixed and all went inside the satisfied tummies in a jiffy. Cost cutting of almost RM50.00 if we had similar feast in you know where, across the street.

Food stories.....

A few weeks ago, my other half told me that his office was organizing a potluck and picnic somewhere at Sg. Tua near Hulu Yam on Sat 2nd of August. He asked me to just make something easy to eat for that occasion as we had a wedding to go later on the same date. Coincidently, the wedding was my niece's and the house is in Kg . Sg. Tua. Whoever going to Sg. Tua from Batu Caves, has to pass by that house which i stayed in during my standard 5 and 6 last century, the primary and agama schools along the way. I decided to bring fruits tartlets. I also baked Banana Choc Chips Muffins but i did not take a picture of the muffins. A few days later, a dear friend told me she tried to make cream puff and was disappointed with the outcome. Thats made me wonder why i had never try to make the puff. Then when i didnt have to do one morning, i made the puff and they came up pretty ok. To my surprised, my boys loved them.

Lastly, i baked a lot of muffins for wedding favors. Packed them individually as in the picture and at 3.00 sharp yesterday, the customer picked them up.......
