This is not an angry posting, because i am not. Its started when i received an sms just after 11.00 in the morning, asking if i could make a carrot walnut cake to be collected after 6.00 pm. At first i hesitated to say yes, but thinking that all the ingredients were available in the kitchen, i said ok but i emphasised on the after 6.00 as one of my boy is in evening school. I told the customer that the collection place was the KTM Station, and due to her late in replying, i thought she agreed. But later she asked if the venue could be in Seremban 2. Though its a bit far , i said ok....tup tup...i received a call at 5.30 saying he was already at the agreed place and asked if i could leave the house . I said i could only leave the house after 6.10 and would be there around 6.30. Then the sms came saying they would collect the cake at the house, and for me to sms my home address. I did, then i waited and waited....just before 9.00 pm i sms and said " I assume that you wont come to collect the cake"...no reply. At 9.10 pm i had to go out and as i was just arriving my destination, an sms came saying , "on the way now, and said i had to go to Seremban 2. I replied i couldnt go to Sban2 and i said KTM station at 10.30 pm would be ok for me....and the replied said" its very late , can i cancel?....i just replied "ok...not meant to be then..thank you."
So, what you all make on this story? I was disappointed not to make the sale but i was not angry...Moral of the story was, we planned but only with God's will, thing would happen....just a bit 'terkilan' that my day was a bit upside down because of this order....lesson learnt, i should not accept a last minute order coz if thing didn't fall as planned....i would ended up with a not nice feeling inside....and of course a small loss of the cake but a gain to the nearby neighbors he he...... I hope all of you have a nice day....

Thank you and a few orders....
Thank you to all for the birthday wishes and i am so blessed having family who fully supported all my doings and friends, old and new who always so encouraging. Birthdays in my home have always been a simple affairs. What i had last Sunday was just that except for the cake cutting he he.......since coincidently i had to make and deco a cake for the Wilton Course 2 class...
On Monday i did this cupcakes. Did these under 'duress' as there was no water supply at home. I wanted to do the Liverpool logo but time was not at my side as i had to deliver the cake by noon. I got the shaped of the ball wrong too....its supposed to be pentagon i/o hexagon he he...sorry to my dear customer
On Wednesday i delivered a set (25 pieces) of choc moist cup cakes and a carrot walnut cake to one sweet pregnant lady in front of the KTM station. I used my newly acquired skills to make flowers and did the flowers straight on the cuppies. I practiced my lines too. The flowers were for the ladies and the checked were for the gents. Carrot cake deco was simple....i didnt have the heart to color the cream cheese topping too much as it would change the taste of the topping.I used to eat this style of vege at one fish head curry restaurant i used to frequent in KL. I got the taste this time but the garlic was a bit over 'garing'....now i know how to make this vege after many times experimenting he he......

Carrot cake, tarts and dinner dish.....
Received an sms on Wednesday last week, requesting to deliver a carrot cake to someone. The sms was from Zati, who runs a bakery in Pekan, Pahang. I have been admiring her talent on cake decoration and enjoy her writing in her here. She also writes Malay novels. I re-learned many malay words which i seldom heard from her blog. The cake was to another writer whom i only found out later just won an award for Novel Remaja category( pls correct me if i was wrong)....I was excited but at the same time nervous, when fulfilling this request. I hope Nisah and family enjoy the cake.
This is currently my oldest son's favorite dish. Daging dendeng, Chef Wan's version which recipe i followed from his book, " Sedapnyerrr....".
These were Blueberry Crumble Tarts. One thing that i can say these things were so yummyy even my father in law loves it......Some one order just the tart base, and i made these with the balance....

Malacca Zoo and far away orders......

As busy as he was, most of the school holidays my husband would try to get a few days off to spend time with the boys, either by going somewhere or just lepakking with them around the house. We would drive to Kuala Lumpur for movie and had nice food in Chillies or where ever the boys fancy. If we went somewhere further, usually it would be to the East Coast as i love the beaches there and of course the fresh seafood.....However, my husband just could not take leave during the recent school holidays, he suggested a day trip to Malacca last Saturday. We left for Malacca about noon and looked forward to have yummy chicken rice in Sg Udang, but sad to say the shop was closed ..haissshhhh we ended up eating asam pedas in one of the warung around the area...the food was not bad but not fantastic either.....Then we visited the Zoo...kids being kids, they enjoyed the walk around the Zoo and the many animals.

While walking and yakking with the kids, i received sms from fellow blogger in Tanjong Malim asking to bake some cakes and muffins for her. Adoii....i said to myself, i was flattered that she requested me to bake things for her but a bit nervous as she is an avid baker herself....so the above pictures were my master pieces ha ha ha....the cupcakes for the husband's birthday, the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting but i didnt get the picture of the muffins as i had posted the pictures of the same muffins in earlier entry here. She wanted them to be send to her son's school near Senawang on Sunday. We met briefly and it was a very pleasant meeting. Felt like meeting an old long lost friend...she is one sweet young woman ....I hope she and family enjoyed the cakes and the muffins. Tun, if you read this hope to see you again soon...make sure you make it for lunch at my gerobok ok??
I had also planned to meet a fellow blogger in Malacca my dear ms hart, but she was in Kuala Lumpur enjoying the P. Ramlee theater....never mind hopefully next trip to historic Malacca, I would be able to see her...
