Last Saturday morning started well enough . Baked the carrot cake, fruit cake and bases for fruit tartlets the night before. Started to decorate the hantaran cake after Suboh and the fondant was so co-operative, it was over in less than 2 hours. After rolling out the fondant and covered the cake, the fondant was so smooth it didn't need much 'stroking' with the smoother. Then i did the ultaraman kenek cake....the mum asked me to write that...so cute. I took a rest for awhile then packed the cakes and tartlet bases and the fruits to be delivered to Setiawangsa in the evening. But before that, i had a 'khenduri' to attend to at my cousin's house in near Ulu Yam.
We left for KL just after 12.00 pm, dropped the cakes and all at my sisters'. Both my sisters went to the kenduri with us. Met most of the relatives whom we last saw was during last Hari Raya. Assisted the cousins cutting some watermelons. Wanted to check missed calls or sms on the handphone, but the phone was missing. I asked my boy to call my number but the phone was already dead.....haissssshhhh....dalam handbag pun hilang....my heart sank a bit when thinking about how to contact the customer who ordered the cakes.....putting up a cheery face, i continued mingling with the people as i didnt want my to feel bad about my lost. Deep down in my heart i was wondering how i was to deliver the cakes and the tartlets as i couldnt contact the customer. We went back to my sisters' place and assembled the tartlets....looked up the old emails from the customer for her phone number and thank God the numbers were in one of the old emails. Quickly i called her and got the direction to the place where i was supposed to deliver the cakes. Felt so relieved the moments i handed over the cakes and the fruit tarts....

Zai,
The minimalist deco - I loike!!
You should try and create a "Zen" deco after this for your cuppies :)
* What happened to your phone? Found it?
k Zai,
Ultraman kenek's mommy here (far away from italy now - bonjour) :) baru sempat nak post a note - was bz lately. First - the tartlet: everyone loves it, the aunties ask where i bought em. 2ndly the ultraman's cake w edible image (i tak leh nak telan benda tuh - so i ate the cake only)... danial couldnt wait to cut his cake. Sampai dia dulu nyanyi bday to u utk diri sendiri (so that leh potong kek cecepat). But the carrot kek tu lain sikit - still cudnt find the best word to describe it. Last but not least the fondant - i tak dpt makan sb kasi kat pengantin ..hehehe. CIAO.
have you found your hp? i lost mine too.... just hate myself for being so careless..........
Shana,
i like the minimalist too...coz the customer can enjoy the taste of the cake without much 'disturbance' of the butter cream...will find how 'Zen' look like first he he...and the phone was stolen from my handbag...got a new one but all the numbers in there yg sayang tuh....
jda,
wah dah sampai Italy ya...i wanted to mail u but segan la pulak...i still feel bad becoz of the delay and my hubby still dok curse on the thief as dia menyusahkan too many people on that day...glad u all enjoy the tarts and i wonder the lain of carrot cake tuh to your liking or otherwise....let me know tau...
helena,
it was stolen so i got a new one...dont think i was careless as it was in my handbag and in a close relative house...just that i feel bad for my cousin yg rasa guilty as the phone lost in her house....
