Orange cupcakes with chocolate ganache..........

On Monday, when i was at MIL's place, i met my husband's niece who is on a study break for a week. She told me that she wanted to eat a nice simple cake. So i told her i would bake her something but at that time i was not sure what to bake. She also told me that she would have to go back to Kedah this Friday. Thinking that Friday was so faraway, i almost forgot about my promise to her. So this morning emails was back and forth between my Sifu and I as i planned to bake chocolate cake. But not quite sure what the size of cake pan to use, i changed my mind to try to bake orange cupcakes. I decided to pair the topping with chocolate ganache. Chocolate and orange, remind me of Zip chocolate orange. And i need to practice to draw line using the butter icing. The cupcakes came out really beautiful and delicious and when iced it with chocolate ganache it is really fantastic.........

Dear Zaitgha,

I've been a silent reader all these while, and have always enjoyed reading your postings on your ventures in the kitchen. You make all the bakings and the cookings look SO easy!

I, for the life of me, cannot bake. Fullstop. So, it's nice to tumpang sekaki to see you and a few other blogging chefs (e.g. Azian) whip up all the wonderful cakes and cookies, etc.

Tapi, setakat TENGOK dan BACA saja lah...Hehehe! Nak try kat rumah pun, I don't even have a proper oven - except my microwave oven which I use for reheating and defrosting only...Pathetic, eh?

;)

Kak Zai,
Alamak, cun!
We had a birthday party last night, for a friend. Had some cupcakes, beautiful, but the taste, I give my own rating 6/10!But this one, since there are orange + choc inside(BOTH kills me), I think I can give a 10, including presentation. Hehehehe.Bila nak bukak bakery kak?

Hello Zaitgha, I almost dipped my iced coffee spoon into my monitor tengok your gulai pegaga.
It looks sooooo sinfully delicious, I think I want to forget some of the good manners my mother taught me since 2 years old, and for the first time break this virtue. Self invitation, ha ha. Nanti, I take my handkerchief cover my face, kalau tidak malu sikit la.
Can I come to your house for dinner when I return to Malaysia one of these days?
Chillie api nasi goreng, pineapple crab curry, and now gulai pegaga? And sambal belachan too?
Kalu boleh, add that ikan cincaru, with chillie stuffings.....?
But no need to make your curry puffs for me...that one very dangerous to my marriage, arhaaa ha ha.
One bite will look at you with dreamy eyes. 2nd bite?
Will look at you with imagination running riot in my mind...better not take 3rd bite...malam ta'boleh tidur susa la. Ha ha. And you wearing your RayBan too? Habis cherita!Just kidding zaitgha.
Like I mentioned in my blog to your comment...baik pun you were too young then when I was at my prime chasing after SYT's in 6 States and a Malay actress too, ha ha.
Otherwise I sure lose my bachelor's degree at an early age. Then your husband no chance, your deadly curry puffs semua habis, arhaaaa ha ha.
You have a nice day, Zaitgha, Lee.

maklang,
dari berangan la jadi reality he he...thanks for the visit and have a good weekend after the big waiting as i read in your house....take care maklang and God bless

Azian,
Gulai pegaga nih memang my favorite...masak dia sama jer mcm masak gulai pucuk paku or pucuk ubi...kunyit hidup, cili api, tumbuk kasar ikan bilis tuh lepas cili api tuh dah lumat...then bruised the serai...masuk kan sekali sumer daun pegaga, segala yg dah di tumbuk and masak....then garam to taste...goreng ikan masin cekik tulang ....yum yum

bake freshly,
its either you mis-spelled my name or you salah orang he he
anyway, thanks for dropping by
